If your phone could talk, it would say the same thing we’re all saying this summer: Does this bathing suit make me look chunky? Scratch that, it would say, “My heavens, it’s hot out here.” With temperatures soaring and cooling rains few and far between, hopping from air conditioned house to car to work/grocery store/movie theatre has been the name of the game. So, how do we keep our tech cool in these conditions?

 

• Take off the case when charging – Phones heat up naturally when charging, so removing the case will let some heat escape.
• Don’t multi–task while charging – Avoid battery-intensive apps and games while charging.
• Pause after recording – Shooting video uses lots of processing power making your phone heat up. Take small breaks between takes to allow your phone to cool.
• Don’t leave your phone in the car – A car’s interior can reach 40-60 degrees hotter than the outside so never leave your phone in the car. If the choice is between car seat and under your towel at the beach, choose the beach.

We all know that when our phones get hot, they don’ t perform as we’d like.
